What it does, and what it doesn't.

AVIF needs the server
Browsers like Chrome can't write AVIF from a page and hand back a PNG. Cloud Pro batches encode real AVIF.

HEIC needs Safari
FyDark opens pictures with your browser's decoder. Safari reads iPhone HEIC photos; Chrome, Edge and Firefox don't.

Smart crop is quick, not clever
It cuts the largest frame of a shape from the side you pick. It doesn't find faces.

No brush mask yet
Gradients and brightness or colour ranges are free; AI subject and sky masks need a sign-in and AI credits; a painted brush is marked coming soon.

Not a layered editor
No layers, no PSD files, no generative fill. FyDark gets pictures ready; it isn't Photoshop.

Exports leave metadata behind
Every picture tool writes a fresh file, so location and camera data don't come along — whether you meant to strip them or not.

Is it really free?
The thirteen tools are, in your browser: no account, no daily limit, no watermark added, at any size. Cloud Pro is for server batches and more AI.
Are my pictures uploaded?
Not for the browser tools. Server batches and AI features upload them, after you sign in, and say so first.
Which formats?
It opens what your browser can show, and writes PNG, JPEG and WebP. AVIF comes from Cloud Pro batches; SVGs go through the SVG optimizer.
How many pictures at once?
25 in a free batch. 1,000 per batch on Cloud Pro, 5,000 on Team.
Can it remove backgrounds?
No — there's no background remover in the studio today.
